How to effectively make money using Adsense

The more you understand about any subject, the more interesting it becomes. As you read this article you'll find that the subject of Adsense is certainly no exception.

The information about Adsense presented here will do one of two things: either it will reinforce what you know about Adsense or it will teach you something new. Both are good outcomes.

Adsense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publisher’s arsenal. It enables a person to monetize their sites easily. If used properly, it can generate a very large and healthy income for them. However if you are not using them rightly and just maximizing the income you squeeze from it, you are actually leaving a lot of money on the table. Something all people hate doing.

How you can start earning money with Adsense can be done easily and quickly. You will be amazed at the results you will be getting in such a short period of time.

Start by writing some quality content articles which are also keyword incorporated. There are a lot of people given the gift of being good with words. Writing comes easy for them. Why not make it work in such a way that you will be earning some extra cash in the process.

There are actually three steps to put into mind before you begin writing your ads and having an effective Adsense.

Keyword search. Find some popular subjects, keywords or phrase. Select the ones which you think has more people clicking through. This is actually a keyword selector and suggestion tool that some sites are offering to those who are just their Adsense business.

Writing articles. Start writing original content with keywords from the topics that you have achieved in your search. Take note that search engines are taking pride in the quality of their articles and what you will be writing should keep up with their demands.

Quality content site. Build a quality content site incorporated with Adsense ads that is targeting the subject and keywords of your articles and websites. This is where all that you’ve done initially will go to and this is also where they will prove their worth to you.

The proper positioning of your ads should be done with care. Try to position your ads where surfers are most likely to click on them. According to research, the one place that surfers look first when they visit a certain site is the top left. The reason behind this is not known. Maybe it is because some of the most useful search engine results are at the top of all other rankings. So visitors tend to look in that same place when browsing through other sites.

Some of those who are just starting at this business may think they are doing pretty well already and thinking that their clickthrough rates and CPM figures are quite healthy. However, there are more techniques and styles to generate more clicks to double your earnings. By knowing these techniques and working them to your advantage, you will realize that you will be getting three times more than other people who have been previously doing what they are doing.

Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics that allows webmasters and publishers to track their results across a number of site on a site by site, page by page, or any other basis you wanted. You should be aware oft his capability and make the most of it because it is one powerful tool that will help you find out which ads are performing best. This way, you can fine tune your Adsense ads and focus more on the ones being visited the most rather than those who are being ignored.

Another thing you should know. Banners and skyscrapers are dead. Ask the experts. So better forget about banners and skyscrapers. Surfers universally ignore these kinds of ad formats. The reason behind this is that they are recognized as an advert and advert are rarely of any interest that’s why people ignore them.

To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a definite focus on what you wanted to achieve and how you will go about achieving them. As with any other kind of business ventures, time is needed coupled with patience.

Do not just ignore your site and your Adsense once you have finished accomplishing them. Spare some time, even an hour, making adjustments to the Adsense ads on your sites to quickly trigger your Adsense income.

Give it a try and you would not regret having gotten into Adsense in the first place.

When word gets around about your command of Adsense facts, others who need to know about Adsense will start to actively seek you out.

Is there really any information about Adsense that is nonessential? We all see things from different angles, so something relatively insignificant to one may be crucial to another.

Fighting Online Fraud and Scam

Authorities are coming up with different ways on how to fight the vast online fraud and scam. In UK, officials has come up with an alternative to the UK's identity card scheme : Give everyone a free iPod installed with a digital certificate. UK officials claimed the integrated services digital network (ISDN) standard is an inherently more secure medium than ADSL, but is too expensive to meet the needs of most consumers or small businesses but a cell phone or an iPod equipped with a digital signature or digital certificate that consumers or business users plugged into their home machines would be an efficient way to solve online authentication and identity management problems.

Although I'm still doubting the effectiveness of the suggestion, I just hope that this will work out.

One of the most effective methods of combating Internet fraud is to eyeball (or manually assess) every transaction for obvious abnormalities, such as unusually high order volumes within one transaction. This is a more cost-effective and practical solution for retailers who do not experience volumes online, and is an effective first check-point for any obvious fraudulent transactions.

It is important for retailers to take a vigilant stance with regards to online orders and be able to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions as early in the checkout process as possible. One solution to this problem is to dictate that the first order made online must be delivered to the cardholder address. Operating in this way would make it increasingly difficult for any potential fraudster using a stolen card to place an order through a website, even if they have the billing address, as the item could not be delivered to a different address.

I am also happy to know that several arrests have been made the past days on persons involved in online fraud and credit card scams.

In New Delhi, India, police claimed to have busted a gang involved in online fraud through hacking of accounts and stealing client User IDs and their password and arrested a person. Prime accused Paramdeep Singh (30), a resident of Amritsar and a dealer of foreign exchange and commodities, was arrested on the complaint of the Director of a firm and member of Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd whose user ID and password was used to transact fraudulent deals leading to a loss of Rs 15 lakh, according to the police.

India's police also claimed to have busted an inter-state racket of credit card fraud with the arrest of two African nationals.

Calra Moore, 48, of Johannesburg and Allen Taylor, 27, of Nigeria were arrested on charges of impersonation, fraud, cheating and criminal conspiracy. The police have also recovered two forged credit cards (Visa no. 4787690012532031 and Standard Bank of South Africa no. 5221261090037763) from their possession.

A Phoenix man was also arrested after allegedly using a credit card account belonging to Green Bay Packers star quarterback Brett Favre more than 40 times. The Arizona Attorney General's Office says 35-year-old William Joachim was arrested on four felony charges of theft, fraud schemes, aggravated identity theft and misconduct involving weapons. Two other men were also arrested in the case and booked into the Maricopa County jail on forgery charges.

I hope authorities will work double time in arresting online crooks and preventing online fraud and scam.

And to everyone, always remember: "When it's too good to be true, it's a scam".

International Youth Festival Stars Aug. 10

Only US Can End War

By HECTOR R.R. VILLANUEVA (Manila Bulletin, Philippines)

ONLY the United States of President George W. Bush can effect an immediate ceasefire, an uneasy truce, and a negotiated peace with the Hamas of Palestine, the Hezbollah of Lebanon, and Israel. To aggravate matters, the smoldering tribal conflicts in Iraq, which is about to explode into a fullblown civil war, could engulf the entire region and ricochet around the world.

The United States itself may be blundering into the same mistakes in Iraq and Palestine as the British did from 1920 to 1930, and from 1940 to 1948, as the Americans found to their chagrin in Vietnam from 1968 to 1975.

While the world may live in the shadow of US nuclear primacy for many years to come, and while US influence and power are firmly anchored on economic superiority and financial stability that will not fade anytime soon, America may suffer from overstretching and budget deficits.

First, it has been argued, with sound validity, that the main difference between Iraq and Vietnam is that, in the former, the conflict centers mainly in the increasing hostility between rival tribes and competing religious sects among Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, Assyrians, Druzes, Wahhabis and others, while Vietnam was a Maoist "people’s war" against western imperialism.

Thus, the Iraq and Palestine of today have their roots in the unpopular, indeterminate policies, pro-Israel bias, greed for oil of the Western Powers, fear of World War II Nazi Germany, which incidentally the Iraqi military dictatorship at that time signed an alliance with, and the postwar fear of Soviet infiltration during Stalin’s reign which ultimately left the national territorial boundaries to the strongest and fittest of the autocrats until the US invasion and overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2001.

As the American political analyst, Joel Rayburn puts it, "In retrospect, it seems clear that the political and public pressure to quit Mesopotamia led the British government first to overstate its progress in Iraq and then to abandon the project too early – with disastrous consequences" which we aver the United States is about to repeat the same mistakes of the past.

Second, the United States must share the shameful, irresponsible, and excessive abuse of armed power by Israel and the destruction of Lebanon and wholesale killings of Lebanese civilians which the United States could easily stop with a direct order to Israel, or else, which it has not done for fear of Jewish backlash at home, and withdrawal of financial support in next year’s midterm elections.

Today, the shoe is on the other foot.

That is, the United States today is singlehandedly "administering" and protecting the region that the British was policing between 1920 to 1930, and during World War II as a Protectorate while the zionist patriots, led by Ben Gurion, were tagged as "terrorists" as the "chosen people" killed, bombed, assassinated, and undermined British authority until the western allies unilaterally, with or without Palestinian people’s consent, declared the creation of the independent State of Israel whose legitimacy is still being questioned by the Arabs.

In summary, it is opined that, by its geopolitical naivete, shortsightedness, obsession with American democracy for all, fickle foreign policies, and hawkish Bush advisers, the United States is not only tending towards repeating the blunder of the British administration in the thirties and forties in Iraq and Palestine, but America is also remissed in not reining in the excesses and abuses of Israeli forces which only the United States can abort.

By its ineptitude and lack of imperial experience, the United States is, in fact, exacerbating the bloodshed, hatred, destruction, death, and demoralization in the Middle East, and the unrequited hatred of all Islam. The ball is in America’s court.

You be the judge. (For comments and views, please email: chaff_fromthegrain@yahoo.com.ph)

Do Ipod earbuds cause problems?

A federal lawsuit filed against Apple Computer Inc., paired with worries aired by Who guitarist Pete Townshend and others, is once again raising questions about permanent hearing damage from iPods and other portable music devices.

The same hearing loss questions sprouted after the Sony Walkman got big in the 1980s and before that, portable boom boxes. The concerns have started again with the iPod, due to its popularity (Apple sold an estimated 14 million during the holiday shopping season) and because the white headphones packaged with the device are "earbuds," which are inserted directly into the ear.

The answer to the hearing concerns from most doctors is the same one given before: When you're using your ears, also use your head.

"There is a concern that using headphones that go deep into the ear canal may be more likely to cause hearing loss, but we don't have any really good studies right now," said Dr. Douglas Chen, the director of the Hearing and Balance Center at Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side.

"If there is a ringing and buzzing in your ears, it means you're playing it too loud. ... If you hear noise after using your headphones or things are a little muffled, then you know you're probably playing it too loud."

A Friendly Reminder from Google on Unsafe Websites

Google has started warning users if they are about to visit a webpage that could harm their computer. The warning will pop up if users click on a link to a page known to host spyware or other malicious programs.

According to the BBC report, the warnings will be seen by anyone using the search engine who clicks on a link to a site identified as harmful by the Stop Badware coalition.

Google, PC maker Lenovo and Sun set up this initiative in January 2006 to identify dangerous software and the websites that try to trick people into installing these malicious programs.

Initially the warnings seen via the search site will be generic and simply alert people to the fact that a site has been flagged as dangerous. Eventually the warnings will become more detailed as Stop Badware researchers visit harmful sites and analyse how they try to subvert users' machines.

The warning suggests that people try a different site but if they want to continue to the potentially dangerous webpage Google will not stop them.

On Winning the $209 million Powerball Lottery Jackpot

I have been betting on the lottery for years now but my luck has not rolled yet. It seems that I really am not the lucky type when it comes to raffles and other drawings.

I just don't know how to react if my lottery number will be called out in the Powerball lottery draw. Maybe, I should ask a group of 100 Sargento Foods factory workers, most from St. Cloud in Fond du Lac County, who claimed to have won the $209 million Powerball jackpot.

A group of 100 Sargento Foods factory workers, mostly from St. Cloud in Fond du Lac County, claim to have won the $208.6 million Powerball jackpot, the second largest jackpot in Wisconsin Lottery history.

The mostly second-shift cheese factory employees each chipped in $1 to a pool for tickets that were purchased at the Ma and Pa's Grocery Express in Fond du Lac, said Eric Heimermann, who works in the shipping department of the Plymouth-based Sargento Foods.

A neighbor of mine once claimed to have won in the lottery. I knew he was not lying because in the following days, he has bought a house, several cars, and various items only millionaires can afford.

Luck may just be around the corner. Who knows. Tonight i'm going to buy another lottery ticket.

How to Search for Jobs Online

Gone where the days when you have to go from one office to another, or climb seemingly endless stairs in a corporate building hoping to get a job. With the advent of Internet technology, searching for jobs has become an easy, comfortable task.

If you already have an electronic copy of your CV and cover letter, sit down in front of your computer and start your search online. But before you do that, here are some points to remember when looking for jobs online.

SEARCH ENGINES

Most companies nowadays have website or are connected online. This means most of their job vacancies are also posted on line. If you know how to use the search engine well in your search, finding the perfect job will be very easy.

There are several excellent search engines online aside from Google. Vivisimo.com and alltheweb.com may not be at par with Google but for sure they are second bests. Using different search engines could sometimes (not really very often!) could lead to different results so it will be best to try searching for jobs in other engines.

USE SPECIFIC KEYWORDS

If you want to work as Computer Programmer, use “Computer Programming Jobs” or “Computer Programmer Jobs” as your keywords. It makes a difference as against using “Computer Jobs” or “IT Jobs”. Try typing the keywords in the search box and you will see different results. The first set of keywords as being more specific. So if you are looking for writing jobs in Singapore, typing “Writing jobs” will not be as effective as using “Writing Jobs Singapore”.

USE JOB SITES

There are a lot of legitimate websites that posts legitimate job vacancies. www.pinoyworks.com and www.worksgalore.com are excellent examples of job sites online. Look for job sites in places where you want to work. But be careful. There also sites that are not legitimate and could be ran by scammers. Don’t give out personal information immediately if you are not comfortable with the site.

BE WARY OF DATES

Some job vacancies online may be outdated because webmasters failed to delete them from the site even as the position has been filled up. Observe carefully the dates of posting and expiry dates to ensure that the vacancies are still available. If no dates are included, begin your cover letter with question on whether or not the posted job is still available.

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR DOCUMENTS

Sometimes, because of the ease of ‘cut and paste’ method, we tend to forget that the HRD name in our letter has not been changed even if the letter is sent to other companies. Whoa! Would you expect an invitation for interview from Company A when what you mentioned in your letter is the name of the Manager of Company B? Be careful with this.

BE RESPONSIBLE

Apply only to jobs that you are really are interested in. Sending out application letters online just for the sake of applying is discourteous and unethical. Make sure also that you are qualified for the job that you are applying to avoid hassle in the future.

Most importantly, use your common sense when using the Internet in your job search. Several scammers and fraudsters are lurking online waiting for victims. When someone asks for a fee in exchange of your application, immediately report the scam to authorities.
